MICE in Bhutan

Bhutan is a small landlocked country in the Himalayas, known for its unique culture, stunning natural landscapes, and commitment to sustainable tourism. The country has been emerging as a destination for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism in recent years, as it offers a range of facilities and experiences that can be tailored to meet the needs of MICE clients.

Bhutan has a small but growing MICE industry, with a range of modern conference facilities and venues that can host events and meetings of varying sizes. The capital city of Thimphu has several conference centers, including the Royal Banquet Hall, which can accommodate up to 300 people, and the Convention Center, which can host events for up to 1,200 people.

In addition to conference facilities, Bhutan also offers a range of unique cultural and adventure experiences that can be incorporated into MICE programs, such as visiting ancient monasteries, hiking in the Himalayas, and participating in traditional Bhutanese festivals.

Bhutan’s MICE industry is supported by the government, which has introduced policies to encourage and facilitate MICE tourism in the country. The Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB) is actively promoting Bhutan as a destination for MICE tourism, and works closely with local governments, private sector players, and industry associations to create a supportive and attractive environment for MICE events.
